FAQ
New to jiu-jitsu or just checking us out? Here's what people ask most before their first class.
Do I need any experience to start?+
No. Most people who walk in have never trained before. Our Fundamentals classes are built for complete beginners — you'll learn the basics step by step in a friendly, safe environment.
Is my first class really free?+
Yes. Your first class is on us. Sign the waiver online or at the door, show up, and try a full class before deciding anything.
What should I wear and bring?+
For your first class, wear comfortable athletic clothing (a t-shirt and shorts or leggings) and bring water. No gi is required to start — we'll let you know when you're ready for one.
How old do you have to be to train?+
Enrollment is open to ages 14 and up. We don't run a separate kids program — everyone trains together in our all-ages class, so newer and younger members learn alongside experienced training partners in a supportive environment.
How much does membership cost?+
We keep it simple: a free first class, drop-in day passes, and monthly or 3-month memberships. See the Pricing page for current rates and what each plan includes.
Can I cancel my membership?+
Yes. Recurring plans can be canceled anytime — you keep access through the end of your paid period. You can manage your membership online with your check-in PIN.
How do I check in for class?+
After you enroll, you'll receive a 4-digit PIN. Enter it at the front-desk check-in screen when you arrive. If you forget it, use the 'Forgot your PIN?' link to recover it.
Is jiu-jitsu safe?+
Jiu-jitsu is a contact sport, but classes are structured to keep training safe. Beginners drill techniques at a controlled pace, and live rounds are optional as you build skill and comfort.
